I had the flu for the first time in my life 2 years ago. I lost my sense of taste and smell.
A few weeks after that, I developed ringing in my ears.
It has never gone away although I have flares where it goes from a 3/10 to an 8/10. I also have a condition called Benign Fasciculation Syndrome (BFS), which began after my tinnitus. I have migraines which might be occipital neuralgia. I'm not sure if it's related.
I have had MRI, blood work, hearing tests. All normal.
Lately, I've had ear and throat pain on one side that accompanied my flare. Any suggestions?
