Cause of Tinnitus
Probably constant exposure to loud music via headphones
Damn! I used to think I only had T in my right ear, but unfortunately I just found out I may have it on my left one too and I'm terrified. I know chronic tinnitus is one thing and "normal tinnitus" is another. Is it possible it may go away? Has anyone been through this? I'll explain further.

Everything was all good here, but all of sudden, for the first time, while I was listening to some music, I felt a fleeting T on my left ear (recently I've been having fleeting T occasionally on the right one too. It used to be a rare thing, like, if I recall correctly, I think started having it for the first time only this year, and I have T since 17 or 18 I think, and I'm 22 right now, but just in the past couple days, I've had it at least once a day while I was listening to music. I'm not sure if it's related.) and I was instantly terrified because I've always been afraid of one day also having it on the other ear, and I'm sooooo bummed right now, afraid that this day came.

My right ear T used to be mild, I mean, it still is, but since June it kind of started being unstable, varying a lot, sometimes I would get louder then it normally is, sometimes I would have almost like complete silence, and it made me kind of de-habituate, but this left one that I don't know if started today after the fleeting T, it is not loud, it's very low in its volume, and it seems to happen when I open my mouth, or at least it makes it noticeable/triggers it. At first I got in a quiet room and started trying to see if there was something, and I concluded there was nothing after closing my ears and only hearing the noticeable one, the one from the right ear, until I noticed this mouth thing I just said. Is it possible that it is normal? Like, when people open their mouths maybe if they focus they would hear it too? Because I think I read somewhere someone saying that sometimes it may be natural, from the body. I'm so bummed and confused at the same time... because it seems that some points may be connecting... There were some times that I'd be watching something on Netflix and smoking a joint before bedtime, and my T would change from the right ear to the left one, but I wouldn't mind, thinking it was being caused by the effects of the marijuana, because I know it changes its behavior, making it louder and stuff, but in the next day it would be normal again, but now I'm wondering if it has always been here, but so low, non-intrusive, different from the right ear one, that I never actually noticed it. Oooh man, it's like this goddamn nightmare just got worse. I'm damned :(

Now it started ringing even without having to fully open my mouth... sometimes it seems to be gone or at least tuns unnoticeable, sometimes it comes back again or turns noticeable again... :(

just in the past couple days, I've had it at least once a day while I was listening to music.

How are you listening to music? Through the same headphones you think caused the tinnitus? If you recently started getting worse tinnitus I would caution against all music even at "safe levels" for a while.

Not literally the same, because I usually use earphones now, but yeah... but it's so hard to be without it, I mean, what do you do when you're getting annoyed by your T? I think I would have gone crazy if it wasn't for it. This left ringing now seems to be triggered by my jaw or something. I always thought my right ear one was caused by loud music but this left one seems so different. I don't know if I'm unfortunate enough to have two different causes now, but it's like, usually the right one doesn't respond to the jaw movements (occasionally it does), but this newer left ear one? When it's not ringing (thanks god its volume is way lower than the right one) alone (I have more silent than ringing moments on it, but right now it is happening) fully opening my mouth makes it happen for the time of the action. In the next days i'll finally see a doctor and see what's up.
