Let's start with the introduction, I have tinnitus for 5 years and habituated to the point where I did not even hear it most of the day, I struggled with it for 2 years before reaching that state.
Now for the bad news, my doctor prescribed me Levitra (ED drug), after having a prostate surgery, I take it very occasionally and right after taking it, it has a positive effect on my tinnitus (and other areas) , but the thing that worries me alot is that in 30 to 40% of the times that I take it my tinnitus gets alot worse the day after, and this spike can last from several days, up to almost 2 weeks, I took one yesterday, and today my tinnitus is through the roof, I hear it over literally everything, it is very disconcerning.
I talked to my doctor about my worries, and he has some experience with tinnitus, and he assures me it is temporary, the drug was even clinically tested for the treatment of tinnitus and no reports of permanent worsening has ever been made, there is a unsubstantiated link with sudden hearing loss and ED drugs, but these are extremely rare, if any.
But it is only after taking this drug that my tinnitus goes crazy and I am worried that it can become permanent , but I don't want to give it up either, as it does work for what it is intended.
Any toughts on this matter, or anyone with similar experiences here on this forum, I searched for info on the internet and can't find anyone with similar issues.
