Went to Movie Last Night, Louder Tinnitus Today. Should I Take Steroids?

For my second ever post, I would like to pose a question. I've had noise-induced tinnitus for 5 months. I usually hear it if I'm in a quiet room, but not so much if I'm "out and about." Last night I went to a movie, and I wore 14 db noise reduction musician's earplugs (EarPeace HD). The movie was incredibly loud at some points, especially the previews, but I figured I'd be OK since I had the plugs in. When I left the movie I took them out and it seemed fine. I then stayed up late (1:30 a.m.) reading.
When I woke up this morning, my tinnitus was louder. I am worried it was from the movie, but sometimes lack of sleep/staying up too late also makes it louder the next day. Is it possible that I re-injured my ears by seeing the movie, even with the musician's earplugs? If so, should I try to start on prednisone/steroids today just to be on the safe side? Part of me thinks the loudness today is just from lack of sleep, but I am very paranoid now about anything that could make my T worse. Thanks for any thoughts.

I went out last night drinking and forgot to take my ear plugs.

I came home late at night and my T was loud. However when I woke up this morning T is down and back to original level again.

Even though my T is due to head Trauma, loud noise does cause temporary spikes so I avoid bars, clubs.. except few times a year.

I took 2 NAC pills this morning and will take them all week.

if your ear didnt spike after or in between the movie then i doubt it was the movie. dont watch the trailers they are louder than the movie itself i learned the hard way. i got a permanent spike years ago from a really loud trailer.
