What Is the Latest and Greatest (Re: Treatments)?

Hi all,

I have been a reader of these forums for the past six months or so (take a guess when I first got Tinnitus!), and have finally decided to make an account as there are often times when I want to ask my own questions.

As mentioned above, I first developed Tinnitus about six months ago, after going to a club. The music must have been too loud for me...and the rest is history.

I have done much reading on these forums, particularly in the Treatments and Alternate Treatments sections, however have found that there are literally dozens and dozens of (apparent) treatments, however many of these are old posts and have probably lost their credibility since the time the posts were authored.

I'm wondering if someone could let me know what are the current treatments that are being looked into, so that I may follow the progress etc. There is not real point in me reading about an old treatment that has since been disproved.

This is pretty recent and has scientific backing. May take up to a year and may work.

Most of the advanced work is being done in Germany but there are two companies also working on solutions in the usa, otonomy and AURIS.
