What Is the Meaning of Tinnitus Baseline?

I'm just learning. One month with tinnitus.

What is the meaning of baseline? I see it mentioned here frequently.

Right now I have a low hiss, just woke up. Yesterday was loud all day. Thank you.

Baseline means what volume your tinnitus is at most of the time. As opposed to, the volume of your tinnitus during a spike.

It means the volume of tinnitus you better pray stays at that level lol
