- Acoustic Trauma (Concert)
Hello!
I am very new to this blog and to tinnitus as well. I have been trying to stay positive and cope as well as I can and it's good to hear stories of how other people have been coping and living their lives.
I got tinnitus after an acoustic trauma and apparently I have very sensitive ears so who knows how much I have harmed them listening to music with earphones all day or using power tools without protection in the past. I am currently an undergraduate student and am generally interested in painting, taking walks, reading. I also enjoy my school work and major a lot and hope to go to graduate school. However, as you may imagine, I have just been exposed to this constant ringing sensation that came after one night and worry that it will keep me from focusing on my school and hobbies etc.
So I am here to ask people: what do you enjoy to do or do professionally and has it been shadowed by tinnitus? What are some things that takes your minds off of it? Can you still focus and concentrate on what you love as much as you did before? How long has the adjustment been for you guys?
