About a month ago I woke up with mild tinnitus, only while lying down. It spread and got worse and over the next few weeks I had an extremely high pitched noise while sitting and standing. It began to get louder and I could hear it over masking noises and while in the park.
Two days ago it got louder while chewing on the right side of mouth.

There was seemingly no cause, no acoustic trauma of any kind. Louder in my left ear and dramatically worse when lying down to rest. I saw an ENT who has booked me for specialist tests and I had no hearing loss (although I do have a certain presence missing from sounds, that's hard to explain)

I woke up today and couldn't hear it in either ear at ALL. I have nearly gone a whole day and its completely gone, like some sort of miracle. I've been trying to trace my steps back, and the only significant things I did yesterday was a brief neck massage and quarter bottle of 57% aged rum!

I have a feeling that it was virus related, as my I had blocked ears in the morning, but the ENT didn't think so.

This has given me such hope, hopefully it stays this way. I have a few very severe illnesses and this was really sending me back into a loop. I have been eating very well, masking the sounds etc.

      There is hope guys!
