Worsening Tinnitus Half Hour Ago After First Dose of Ranitidine

Having started ranitidine taking two 150 mg tablets increased tinnitus to whole new level.

Took it half an hour ago and now I'm probably doomed to this whole new level of tinnitus which is louder and more intense.

Having taken the pills without knowing the relationship between the drug and tinnitus I've done myself in.

First thought was to shoot myself in the head. I know there's no cure for tinnitus and no treatment.

I hope I have leukemia so I can die soon and be rid of this.

 

Hopefully what you are experiencing is just a temporary spike...

 

You are most likely experiencing a spike due to a bad reaction to the drug. Drink a shot ton of water to flush it out of your system. Take a hot shower and see if the steam can help open up your pores to release some of the drug. Hell, even eat something considering it's drug that interacts with stomach acid. Maybe it will dilute it.

 

Drugs that affect serotonin levels cause short term changes in tinnitus.

The odds that you've done permanent damage to yourself are so close to zero as to be indistinguishable.
