I am going to see the primary care doctor, I can't
get a referral without him. I am afraid of the steroid
shot because last time I got oral steroids and wound
up in ER with horrible vertigo.
Thanks for replies, but isn't it better to wait a few days to see if
it goes back to baseline? Are you saying that it will get worse than
it is right now?
Thanks!
Hi All,
I haven't been here for quite awhile, that's because I've habituated fairly well over the year.
However, 2 days ago I was present when a rifle was accidentally discharged inside a garage.
The sound was beyond hideous, and my buzzing has increased in tone and intensity.
I don't know if...
I also am planning a trip flying for first time since T . I have alot of anxiety!!
Just wondering, if I use my Peltor earmuffs, isn't that too long a time (10 hour flight).
Anybody can you advise on long distance flights??
Happy Holidays to all!!
The other day I decided to try an experiment:
I put an earbud in my bad ear and played sounds
of water falling. My thinking was that my brain
might interpret this as hearing sound better and
thus lower the tinnitus volume.
Wrong... I'm now having a spike since and feeling
foolish and low...
I'm...
Tinnitus Poem
While jet lagged in Lisbon, a virus of hate
flew into my ears and settled my fate.
A circus of sounds befuddled the brain
I couldn't escape this maddening reign
I pleaded with doctors to take it away
They issued their bills with "have a nice day"...
Finally found hope right on...

I'm so sorry, @coffeegirl, it could be exactly what happened to me:
the steroids only temporarily stop the tinnitus, once their done I got
very sick, had to go to emergency. You need to see an ENT asap and
have your hearing tested as well...
Strange how these sensations/sounds suddenly come and go. Like a mystery show. I'm the
reluctant star of a movie I can not leave physically. But there are options to exit mentally.
Today I woke up and my "good" ear was aching....could it also now develop hearing loss and
tinnitus? Its been 6 weeks since the left ear nightmare happened, so why would this happen so long
afterward? Could it just be a blip and I'm freaking out over nothing?
sigh....darn T and SSHL and...
Hi @glynis ,
I was so sorry to hear of your illness, and hope you are feeling some
relief now that all those tests are negative.
I am sending my most positive thoughts to you and praying for
healing each and every day forward. :headphone:
