Hi @Sam Bridge , well it's some speculation, but that's the most logical explanation I got from ENTs and a neurologist because it started very suddenly in one ear, and I wasn't exposed to loud sounds at the time.

@Markku thanks a lot for the info! great to see so much going on here. I have web programming/db skills, maybe I could even bring someone in from data analytics at work ;). Please let me know if I can contribute in these areas.
