It's a toss up with antibiotics. If you do. I would recommend also adding a healthy dose of probiotics to the regimen. I'm not a doctor tho.

Thanks for the advice. I got some live yoghurt from the local health food shop. Is that counted as a probiotic? I've started taking Augmentin, but not the metronidazole. Too scared. If i see no improvement in the coming days I will no doubt take it.
Augmenting should fine for you. If the metronidazole topical/ cream great. But there has been at least one tinnitus case attributed to the oral version. Seems to rare, but understand your concern.
Thanks @Forever hopeful, doctor gave me a larger dose of Augmentin due to the fact I'm afraid to take metronidazole. My doctor is well aware of how difficult the last year has been for me so she understands.
In so much pain though. Been given tramadol, but again I'm afraid to take it. Been making do with diazepam. Not even sure it helps tbh.
