Don't miss the opportunity to attend Tinnitus Quest's online Q&A with Dr. Susan Shore and Jon Pearson, CEO of Auricle on October 13. We will hear the latest about the Susan Shore Device.
I love my Peltors. Peltors really help. I used to feel self-conscious wearing them in public because they are huge and a hideous shade of school-bus yellow, but I'll take protection over fashion any day. : )
A word of advice on earmuffs: be careful not to tap the plastic ear cuffs with your car keys, rings, watch, or any other hard object because the sound may spike your tinnitus temporarily or activate your hyperacusis.
Also, if you wear earmuffs while driving, be careful when changing lanes or turning because when you turn your head to look over your shoulder, you might tap the cups against the headrest a little too hard. But it's not a big deal--you'll soon get used to wearing earmuffs and you'll feel so much safer and confident when out in public.
