Constant Tinnitus, Jaw Clenching, and Head Pressure After Age 62 — Could It Be Cancer?

Stress and tension can definitely cause headaches, and so can clenching. I recommend adding meditation or relaxation practices to your daily routine, doing head and neck exercises at least once a day, and using a nightguard. Also, pay close attention to your posture. All of these should help...

M31: Tinnitus After a Work Event Night Out

I was injured almost exactly a month before you, and I’m still suffering the effects as well. I only started to see my first real improvements in July, which was the sixth month for me, so hopefully they’ll start showing up for you too. I also have the tension in my ears that you feel. My ears...

Challenges Securing Tinnitus Research Funding without Networking or VC Access

It’s actually not like that anymore. We can now run decentralized trials without relying on traditional clinical sites. In most cases, having a single PI, an IRB, and a DSMB is more than enough. I’m also against paying non-healthy participants, especially in CNS trials. Participants should...

Third anniversary in this forum but I’ve had tinnitus for 30+ years (mild). Now, it’s pretty brutal, I think, and it takes my thoughts away every day. Still hoping and working on it getting better.

NervGen Pharma’s NVG-291-R Demonstrates Significant Functional Recovery in DoD-Sponsored Preclinical Models of Traumatic Hearing Loss

This seems to be for “acute” hearing injury. Is there any research for applications to chronic cases?

Severe Burnout, Worsened Tinnitus, and Hyperacusis: Struggling to Break the Cycle

Sorry to hear you’re struggling, dude. I’m doing terrible myself, to be honest. I’ve used Mirtazapine in the past and it was relatively helpful. You could slowly increase the dose, starting with something like 2 mg.

@RestlessNights Well, what you describe with vertigo and heart palpitations (and some fainting, or close to fainting) is one of the main symptoms of POTS. So you should definetly get checked for this if these symptoms has been for a while. You would need a tilt table test or lean test by someone...

Constant Tinnitus, Jaw Clenching, and Head Pressure After Age 62 — Could It Be Cancer?

Thank you, everyone, for your replies. Is it common to get headaches with this? I’ve suffered from migraines since finishing treatment years ago and have had MRIs and CT scans, all of which were negative. Lately, since the ringing started a few weeks ago, I’ve been getting recurring headaches. I...

M31: Tinnitus After a Work Event Night Out

Well, here I am as well. In August I joined the forum of Tinnitus Talk, after enduring this nightmare since February 23, 2025. I know I am not the only one who makes mistakes in life, but I made one that left me where I am now. One night I went with my colleagues to a bar that had an outdoor...

Severe Burnout, Worsened Tinnitus, and Hyperacusis: Struggling to Break the Cycle

How are you doing now, @lostb1t? Mine has suddenly gotten much, much worse. It’s deafening now. I can’t sleep because of it, and I can’t function at all. I have a burning pain all over my scalp, and any stimulation, like watching a TV show or doing computer work, brings on a severe headache...

Mild Reactive/Distorted Tone in Right — Dysacusis or Not?

Hey guys, Recently, I’ve been getting a really mild tone in my right ear. I can only hear it faintly in response to certain noises, and I notice it especially when wearing my muffs. However, when I plug my ear, I can’t hear it, which makes me fairly sure it’s reactivity or “dysacusis.” I can’t...

TMS-Induced Tinnitus and Hyperacusis — Struggling With Triggers

In silence, the reactivity usually calms down. The crazy squealing I experience, which rises and falls, becomes a steady high-pitched tone. When sounds are introduced, it starts to warble, squeal, and increase in volume. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this too. I only recently realized what was...

    Tinnitus After Lumbar Puncture

One more question, if you don’t mind. Did the hum change? You mentioned earlier that it was living, oscillating, and irregular. For me, this is the hardest part. If it were a steady tone or hum, I wouldn’t mind as much. Did yours change over time, or is it still the same?
