my tolerance dropped again but this time it isn’t springing back. i think my sensitivity is affected by bad sleep and headaches and stuff.

does anyone have any experience with Doc's proplugs? are they recommended?
i know how you feel, my house is also kind of loud too. everytime i hear a loud noise my ears get full and the ear drum inside spasms a bit.
mine is still here at 6 months :( what do you think has been the most effective thing for your healing?
omg the reality of being a teenager with hyperacusis is that people think i have autisum when i cover my ears? i just realised this 0.o
***i dont think screaming is an impact noise, what i meant was short but loud noises like a dish breaking, someone suddenly screaming etc
also im 17 now :3
i would recommend buying a pair from amazon, currently i use sleep ear plugs which dont give me ear pain/discomfort and slide in easily.
my noise sensitvity has improved but i still feel ear drum spasms when i hear loud impact noises like people screaming. my tinnitus has improved i...

Its been 2 months and I still have ear pain :(
Is loudness H really that rare? I dont (want to) think so.
YAY!! I miss blasting music :3
@mkeyourownluck yeah its pretty intermittent and goes after a couple minutes.
Thanks. Ever since March my life has just been horrific. I'm going to try my hardest to sleep well and not stress.
Heartbeat in my right ear now. Yay!
That last part lmao. I wish I'd been less hysterical and instantly deciding to protect my ears from every little sound at the beginning....
I don't have pain hyperacusis. It's loudness hyperacusis.
@Marshall yeah im not protecting my ears from those sounds anymore, anything over 79db however i will use protection. but, its hard to do even that.
@ThomasF If these teams/companies succeed? Will they be able to treat H and T and VSS caused by acoustic trauma?
One time on the bus to school I passed by a local secondary and all the kids were filling in for class. At least 40% had earbuds in.
IDK how many weeks at this point but I have all the same symptoms plus increased BFEP (blue field entoptic phenomenon) and two bouts of reactive...
@ThomasF what do you mean by that second comment? im bad at biology :3

@Snake If you dont mind, could you describe your symptoms? I just want to understand the condition better.
ok no more depression posts i promise
Ugh, my brother just slammed the door and now my right ear feels full.
@Marshall so you had VS before tinnitus? One thing ive noticed is that a lot of T sufferers with VS developed VS before T. Thanks for your comment!
Happens to me sometimes 0.o
How common is VSS for tinnitus sufferers?
Yes, I've become very anxious over this but I'm finding ways to manage. Thank you for your reply. Did your tinnitus completely go away? I...
I know that wearing ear protection at homr is bad, but what if some noises make me uncomfortable/hurt such as flushing the toilet?
About that past point, does this mean that exposing yourself to loud noise in the first 2 weeks after onset will definitely mean I will develop a...
@Steph1710 No, my mistake, I assumed that when you said you had seen improvements after "4/6 months" that you meant that you'd lost T and H. I'm...
@Diesel Where would I get custom earplugs? And how much do they usually cost?
Can anyone link me some good earplugs that allow me to talk to other people?
Counting my blessings: my T is mild, I can do pretty much everything as normal if I wear ear plugs, my pain is reducing and I can sleep!
I am in a very similar situation to you, same high frequency/mild tinnitus, noise sensitivity and time frame. There are much more experienced (and...
So why does it fade over time/disappear for some people (who had tinnitus from noise damage)? I'm just curious :)
Does tinnitus caused by noise exposure always mean that those hair cells have died off?
@Guywithapug For H mainly, @Steph1710, did it come back? If not why are you still on here?
3 weeks in and no improvements
(Almost) 3 weeks in: Tinnitus has slightly increased in volume although it's still mild and doesn't really affect my sleep. Also, when I wake up...
Ughhh spoke to soon, I think my tinnitus has gotten louder.

School with earplugs actually was not that bad AND I had to take the loud bus twice :)
In that case, I think I get a lot of occlusion from foam ear plugs... Maybe I'm not inserting them properly. Also, I have constant ear fullness,...
What do you mean by occlusion? Is this when things like eating food sound louder when covering your ears? And is this harmful? I don't experience...
@Foamearplugssuck Thanks for your replies <3. I hate that I did this to myself but I've accepted it. I hope you improve soon <333
Just a Q, is hyperacusis always chronic?
