I just remeasured my tinnitus, and it’s about that pitch, located at the edge of my hearing on my left (good) ear. It’s not super loud, but the pitch alone is enough to drive me crazy at times. Having a reactive component makes it even more annoying.

I can’t believe my brain is dumb enough to create this unnatural frequency. Not even music gets this high. I am really hoping future treatment options will work for tinnitus this high-pitched.

Sorry for ranting, going through another stress/school related spike.

My high pitch noise is somewhere between 13 kHz to 15 kHz. Does yours ever fluctuate in volume?

High pitch tinnitus is tough to deal with.
I have dips at 16000 Hz and perfect hearing at 18000 and 20000 hz and this results in exteremely unpleasant hiss/tone that's very hard to mask.
Mine doesn't fluctuate, but sometimes I hear another sounds. Yesterday I had 3 separate frequencies going off.

My husband has severe chronic tinnitus, has had it for 10 years now, had to stop working. Been to so many specialists and they all say learn to live with it and to see a psychiatrist. He is talking about suicide now. I am beside myself. There is no quality of life in his eyes.

      I'm open to anything.

      Masking, meditation etc don't work.

@petalweaver, there will be new developments in 2020. Your husband will make it, until then, hugs from me.
