A Healthy Diet Preserves Hearing

The problem is that tasty food has an antidepressant effect. I gained 60 pounds since my tinnitus worsened.

Yup. I've been on the Fat Thor diet for way too long myself.

Does anyone else find that their hearing gets better when they eat/drink better?

I'm a heavy soda drinker and when I go a few days without any (drinking water exclusively) I think my hearing gets better. But my mood gets worse because I'm not getting any of that caffeine/sugar which in turn makes it harder to deal with my tinnitus. Can't win. :(

I pretty darn healthy, most of my buddies poke at me for my strict diet, lol; lots of fruits and veggies, I keep red meat to a minimum (once a week), low cholesterol diet, I work out and exercise every day, don't eat salt much, not too much sugar and none of this seems to affect my tinnitus, unfortunately! Would be great if it did but diet has no effect on me.

I guess I count myself lucky that with the exceptions of beer and maple syrup, things I find delicious are mostly pretty good for you.

Give me pan-seared salmon and a salad over fast food anything, any day.

I'm lazy as hell at home, but because I live in the middle of nowhere I can avoid a lot of junk food just by shopping for healthy-ish ingrediants and not much else. I eat a lot of sandwiches on whole grain with various veggies, cheeses and occasionally meats for lunch. I probably get more carbohydrates than I need, but otherwise I think I do okay.
