      Noise induced from earbuds
It's been almost 3 months since I suffered an acoustic trauma and unfortunately my T is still as loud as ever. I feel even more distressed now than I did in the first few weeks as I am losing hope that I will ever be rid of this.

I have read that degeneration to the inner ear nerves can continue for months to years following an acoustic trauma and so I am worried that my T will get progressively worse during this time. I'm also afraid that my hearing will deteriorate even though so far I haven't noticed any loss.

I can't seem to get past these fears as my T constantly reminds me of them. I'd really like to hear some thoughts or advice from anyone who can relate to any of this. Has anyone experienced an ongoing deterioration since an acoustic trauma and if so, to what extent and how long did it last? Does anyone struggle with the fear of things getting worse or have any advice for coping with this? Thanks!

I've had T for over a year now from a loud concert and my T hasn't gotten worse. It's basically the same. I am much better than I was. The brain learns to block it out

I fell asleep with my headphones.

I have had T/H since 2001. I fell asleep with my headphones, and I woke up with ringing in my ears. I have not had any deteoriation, and I was listening to music, from 1pm-6pm. I used foam earplugs that I cut in half, and inset the, into my ears. I am good to go. I go to bars, and clubs. I have no issues, but I am workimg on TRT. Evem if I fail, I am still good. The wors case scenario is not a problem for me.

      Relax, and be proactive.
