Also New to This Curse

The big T started in September 2013 during my first week back at work as a teacher, it affected my left ear only and has progressively got louder. I've tried hearing aids, MP3 Pillow, playing background music, gingko biloba, wormwood, cloves,b vitamins, iodine drops and now docs depression tablets.

Having been exactly the same when I was young, far too much heavy metal and head-banging, I can sympathise with your background cause. The production at the time was to ramp up the mid-range frequencies so that the record sounded as loud as possible when played next to others on a sound system, one of the reasons I'm sure I have a sensitivity in my ears to mid ranges.

Have any of what you tried made much difference?

I've been researching and trying new things as well in hopes that by some miracle one of them will work but nothing yet. I do know that certain things do make it worse for me. Smoking, alcohol, caffeine... its almost like my T is telling me to change all the bad habits I have, hell of a way to show it I guess. It has made my life pretty miserable but I try to stay positive.

 

Have you been to see anyone about it?

 

First appointment next week actually.
