      Tinnitus Since:
      08/2019
      Cause of Tinnitus:
      Frequent Travel or Stress/Anxiety
Hello, I’m 43 and I’ve been struggling with tinnitus for 3 weeks now. I’ve seen 2 ENTs and there’s no eardrum rupture or hearing loss. Even did a course of Medrol Dos Pak. There’s no apparent physical cause except I was in upstate NY in the mountains for work, I went on a few hikes. I first noticed it shortly after I flew back from NY and really noticed it after my next flight 5 days later. I can only sleep if I take a benzodiazepine and started an SSRI yesterday to cope.

Has anyone ever had stress induced or altitude exacerbated tinnitus that eventually went away?

I know it’s still in the acute phase but this is torture. One ENT said it could take months. I can try to be patient but by then it’s considered chronic.
