Anyone Familiar with Using the Drug Amrix to Reduce Tinnitus?

Okay so I am doing some research and I came upon this article about extended release Cyclobenzaprine to treat tinnitus and it looks like some people wanted to patent it but I'm not sure. The article is found here:

Later on the article it talks about a drug called Amrix which is Cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride and testing they did with it for tinnitus. I looked up the prices for Amrix on goodrx.com and it is extremely expensive. Has anyone tried this for tinnitus? Could you take the equivalent amount of generic Cyclobenzaprine (the name brand is Flexeril) which is much cheaper throughout the day and get the same result?

I've been on Flexeril in the past when my T first started. Unfortunately, it did not help me other then helping me relax.

 

How much did you take each day and for how long?

These studies seem to use more than normally is prescribed. I could be wrong though.

 

I was on 10mg two to three times per day. I used this for 4 months.

 

I've taken 40-50mg in a day and not noticed much difference, but I'm pretty sure I never got anywhere near 60mg per day for 2-3 weeks straight.

 

That is a pretty strong dose. I don't think I'd be able to function on that...

 

So no one has tried amrix for an extended period of time?
