      Hi,

I'm just wondering if neomycin eye drops prescribed for conjunctivitis are safe to use. I know neomycin in general is ototoxic. If they are can anyone recommend an antibiotic eye drop that's safe? I'm terrified it'll make my tinnitus etc worse bur I need to treat the eye. Thanks.

I had to use Kanamycin eye drops a few weeks ago twice for each five days. I was also worrying but it turned out ok, no noticable spike.

So I went back as I'm terrified to use the drops I've been give a course of amoxicilline in tablet form... Is this OK? I'm scared to death.

Did you ever try the drops, Blue? Doubt they would do anything anyway. I wouldn't use them.

Also, how are you holding up in general these days compared to 2017/2018?

Hi @Smartone202 no I didn't use the drops, I was too anxious they'd make matters worse. My eye cleared on its own after a few days.

Thanks for asking how I'm doing. Tbh not good, still have the most horrendously loud tinnitus and noise sensitivity. Only thing I've learnt is its not worth fighting this giant.

What sounds are you hearing now in 2019? Have you seen any improvement at all in the years since onset?

High pitched pure tone (around 12khz) which was measured at 65db in 2017. I also have extremely loud hissing, both continuous and pulsatile, a low hum in my left ear, sometimes in my right. The sounds are both in my ears and my head. The high frequency screeching is loudest in my right ear but I have it in my left ear too, the hissing fills my whole head. I'm so tired of all of this. I haven't seen any improvement in my hearing or tinnitus, the opposite in fact. Only the hyperacusis has reduced slightly.
