Are People with Tinnitus/Hyperacusis More Likely to Develop Ménière's Disease?

Are people with tinnitus/hyperacusis more likely to develop menières disease?

If so, what can be done to prevent it from happening?

It states that the cause is unknown, but I'd like to know about this as well now that you bring this up.

 

One ENT I saw said there is no connection like that. I hope she is right...

 

I think its like saying that people who have joint injuries due to sport are more likely to develop arthritis. meniere's probably has to do with inner factors, not trauma.
