Hello everyone, my name Is Joe, Im 17 years old. Last month, I had a twitching in my right eyelid, that went on for days. It started on a Sunday. It went on for couple of days. Thursday afternoon, I was sitting down on the couch watching a speech on tv by President Obama with my mom, and all of a sudden i heard like the microphone on tv made a weird noise and my ears felt funny and thats how it started. Later that evening i had heart palpations, and a slight panic attack as well. The Friday i saw an optometrist for my eyes. He thought it was conjuctvitis ( which i doubt cause i had it before and this time it was different). So he gave me a presecrption for eye drops. Didn't really do anything, but the next day the eye twitching went away. Now my ear ringing was still there. So this kept on until the next weekend, on a Sunday night I couldnt take it anymore, i had another bad panic attack, and I went to the ER. Long story short, the PA told me it was from stress and it should go away within a couple days. I had got a Rx for Buspar which eased the anxiety a little but the ringing is still present. I tired Lipoflavnoid, stopped it becuase it made my head feel weird, and Im currently trying Vitamin B12. I dont think its hearing loss becuase I listen to music, but not quite consistantly and definitely at extreme volume. Would like to hear if anyone has similar experiences.

Here are few things that can surely help you.

Depression is most of the time the cause behind any bodily problems, I was depressed for years because I wasn't happy with my job, you should look at Vitamin D, quickest way you can try certain things is hit the gym and start doing some workouts like weights, cardio, this will bring certain changes to your body, it can heal faster, to me since the last 6 months I have been doing weights, alot of changes to my body, Tinnitus and Vertigo has left my body for good, and try not to think about the ringing, keep yourself busy and warm, winter is something that I don't like to be around.

T can be caused by many possible reasons. Although different people may have different causes, the result is the same - tinnitus. The reaction of stress, anxiety and panic will follow and we suffer. So while the cause may take a while to find, it is important to know how to cope with T instead of falling into panic every time. Perhaps try masking so even if T stays on, you have something to mask it so your anxiety level won't shoot up, which can aggravate T.

I used to mask all day just to prevent panic attacks from hearing my ultra high pitch loud dog whistle T. Try these if you haven't yet:

      1) Mask at bed time so you can sleep better. Find whatever sounds/music that are soothing to you. You can use a sound machine or sound pillow for this, or a computer with speakers.

      2) If you need masking on the go, try load an ipad with nature sounds or music using itune, or use smart phone. You can also order some nature sounds via ‘itune’ to play on your PC.

      3) If you have computer and speakers, you can try these excellent masking sounds:

      TT's audio player: http://www.tinnitustalk.com/audioplayer/

or download free sound generator ‘aire freshener’: http://www.peterhirschberg.com/mysoftware.html

or make your own rain sound: http://mynoise.net/NoiseMachines/rainNoiseGenerator.php

or search youtube with words like 'tinnitus masking sounds', 'white noise', 'rain sound' etc.

Also, it helps to read some success stories to calm and to stay positive. Here are some success stories from young people like you. Hope their stories will help you to have hope and to stay positive. God bless your recovery.

Thanks for the reply guys. I went to my pediatrician yesterday, and turns out my right ear is infected and my left ear has excess fluid in it. I was prescribed allergy meds and a antibiotic. I'll keep posting on how it goes.

      Hi,

Sorry to hear you're suffering. My audiologist said that anxiety induced tinnitus is quite common. It should go away once the anxiety settles down a bit.

Update. I also have four impacted molar teeth, which my doctor said could also be causing the ringing. My brother mention that for the past two days he's also have a sudden onset of tinnitus, but it's not as bad. He has two impacted molar teeth. Do I'm wondering if there is a connection?

If its noise induced or you don't know why its causing then

" Only thing that helped me until now not caring about this shit , more you care , more it comes in your way , more it ruins your life , more you waste your life "

if you are waiting for it to go away , it won't . Just don't give shit and then it may go or settle down . I haven't seen many people who were bothered so much and their T went away.
