      Tinnitus Since:
      03/2015
      Cause of Tinnitus:
Kneeboarding, and slammed my ear into the water(ruptured ear)
Ever sense a year ago I have had this annoying muffled ringing noise in my ear and when I swallow my ear crackles... A few years before it started I ruptured my eardrum while kneeboarding on a lake and I wiped out and slammed my ear into the water... I was wondering if there was anyway to make T go away faster or a way to cope with it, I sleep with a fan now because I can't sleep with the earitating noise in my ears, it helps mask it but I need help with ideas or tips to cope with T. Thank you.

I use a small fan and some rain sounds. I also take melatonin most nights. Have been using a lower dosage since they make me feel groggy in the morning. Unfortunately, I still hear my T at night despite the maskers but I have learned not to react as much, if at all. Does it bother me? Yes. But you need to sleep right? I try and think of scenarios in my head, whether realistic or not until I fall asleep. It helps me. Goodluck!
