This study is from 2011: Carboxy alkyl esters of Uncaria tomentosa augment recovery of sensorineural functions following noise injury Now, if you look into what CAE is, it’s Cat’s Claw Extract. There is an updated study from 2019 in regards to using CAEs for NIHL: Can a drug that repairs DNA help prevent noise-induced hearing loss? Learn about the audiologist testing this novel treatment. I have only found one mention of this study or product (Optogenix AC-11) on these forums. Is this something we should be interested in? I know there is a lot of fluff out there but in researching CAEs it seems that the DNA repairing properties are in fact real, I just don’t know how this really translates to OHC regeneration.
There is a thread on Cat's Claw. Mixed reviews - personally it didn't help me. Cat's Claw (Uncaria Tomentosa)
You know what, I’m going to try it again because why not - it’s around and I don’t think it spiked me.
Apparently the brand is important. I ordered from Healthycell which issues the AC-11 patented formula. I haven’t received it yet but I’ll let you know if it helps at all.
Just started this today. I have a 30 day supply. https://www.amazon.com/Healthycell-AC-11-Supplement-tomentosa-Boosting/dp/B01AGE0JIC
One day ahead of you. I hope this crap works. I am also taking high dose Vitamin B1 right now. The last time I took it, my tinnitus would spike throughout the day but I liked the other benefits and it made me feel better. My tinnitus is still spiked but I feel like it might be a bit less with the AC-11. I’ll really only know in a week or two. On a side note, I feel like the B1 spikes my tinnitus but it’s almost like I could imagine it repairing my nerves. Hard to explain as it doesn’t feel like a regular spike. I was also intrigued to start it again after reading the post about TPP curing @Azariah. I’ll keep you updated on the AC-11.
I did one month so far as well. I can’t say major improvement but the tinnitus seems a bit lower. No improvement in fullness and fluid feeling but hyperacusis is pretty much gone. Not sure how much I can relate to AC-11. I am doing another month and see where I end up.
