A few weeks ago I started using a cinnamon supplement to help lower my blood sugar levels.

And honestly my tinnitus has really gone down. Has anyone else had any experience with cinnamon?

Cinnamon can have a couple of interesting effects on the brain. At some point I’ve seen someone mention that cinnamon spiked them.

There are a couple studies that show that it somehow acts on both dopaminergic neurons and serotonin - both of which may have a role in tinnitus .

Thanks for sharing and happy to hear you have found a bit of relief!

Can you rate your tinnitus 1 to 10 before and after taking the Cinnamon pills? Has the volume stayed down or does the improvement only last for a short period of time? Are you certain the tinnitus is less loud and you're not just having a good day?

There are times when I am not thinking about my tinnitus and I perceive it as lower but it is actually the same volume.

For anyone interested in this, you have to take Ceylon cinnamon (true cinnamon). Cassia cinnamon is bad if you go over the typical small dose for seasoning. This is because Cassia cinnamon contains a lot of Coumarin, which can be harmful in large doses. Ceylon cinnamon on the other side contains essentially no Coumarin.

Do you take Ceylon cinnamon? Are you planning to take it?

I found that overall I have noticed a decrease in tinnitus volume. I plan on continuing using it every day.

Just try some and see if there's a difference.
Good luck, stay safe out there. Happy Holidays.

No, but I have read several things connecting insulin/blood glucose levels to tinnitus. Maybe the improvement wasn't directly related but a result of helping blood glucose levels. I've read recently two accounts of people having improvement in tinnitus after taking out carbs or going on a carnivore diet. I could not do this because I get hypoglycemic and regular carb intake helps this.

I don't benefit from antioxidants, be it garlic, ginger or turmeric. So no reason to take Ceylon cinnamon either (though I have it).

OK thanks! I'm going to give it a go, nothing to lose.
