- Eustachian tube dysfunction (from infection / labyrinthitis)
If it's not one thing, it's another... I feel like every time I "conquer" something tinnitus related, something else pops right up!
I know that there are a few active posters here with tinnitus from ETD (confirmed or suspected), who are taking a corticosteroid nasal spray (i.e. Flonase), in the hopes of getting inflammation down and the Eustachian tube back in shape in order to reduce the symptoms (tinnitus and otherwise).
For the past week or two, I've noticed some strange eye feelings, sort of like there is there is something stuck in my eye (when there is not). The feeling comes and goes and is usually absent in the morning but comes on later in the day. At first I thought that I was just being extra sensitive to my eyes — after all, I've been extra sensitive to a number of things since my tinnitus began (hello OCD) — but, for a few days now this has honestly been bugging me more than the tinnitus, and I'm rather sure at this point that I would have noticed it before so it must be a new symptom.
I went to the optometrist this afternoon and it was suggested to me that this is likely "dry eye" which has occurred as a side effect of the nasal spray. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar after using nasal spray for an extended period of time.
Going to try using an omega 3 supplement and see if that helps out...
