What is the source for this graphic? The inclusion of advanced cancer seems odd because individuals with terminal cancer know their pain will eventually end — sometimes within months. However, if all states had assisted suicide for cancer than I think that particular number would be higher.
I don't question whether tinnitus increases thoughts of suicide. I know it did for me. But for me it was that I did not want to live 40 or 50 years like this. If tinnitus was terminal and I'd have had only four or five more months, well I wouldn't have spent time thinking about suicide.
This chart mention specifically Parkinson's disease but leaves off quite a few other conditions or situations with increased risk of suicidal thoughts, including anxiety, depression, marital problems, abuse and bullying. Is it possible these are not included because the suicidal idealization in several of these populations is above 20 percent?
