Do Colds Worsen Your Tinnitus?

I recently had a cold for the first time I can remember since I got tinnitus, I am just getting over the cold and a few days ago my tinnitus got worse in my right ear. It is a much louder ringing/humming. Does this happen to you when you get a cold or get sick too? Does it tend to go away after a bit or will it stay like this? I am taking some medicine right now because I recently went to the doctor and she said that I had some fluid in the back of my ear so that could be part of it. Merry Christmas everyone!

Oh ya. When I start getting a cold I start popping the Benadryl just because I know the Tinnitus will be increasing.
