      Hi,

I was wondering if there were opinions regarding whether musicals posed the same danger as concerts and sporting events, even with good hearing protection.

      Thank you.

I don't think the type of event matters. My only concern would be the loudness.

I've been to a couple musicals since developing tinnitus. Wore plugs to both, and would definitely recommend that. The lights really depends on the sound man. I went to Dear Evan Hanson and found the sound perfectly hovering between 85-90 dB for all songs (and quieter between songs). But I went to another smaller production that was inappropriately amplified and I had to step out. So it can vary. You have to do what feels right for you.

Thanks for all your replies. I guess I had better remain being ultra careful and avoiding these events...
