Hi all,

I've got a situation which I would like other opinions on.

My story is long but I've had T 30 odd years since I was 13, it calmed down to start with but has been getting worse over the last 10 years. This was accelerated at the end of 2015 when a specialist gave me 3 months clonazapam but didn't explain how addictive it was, I was taken off cold turkey, I had changed jobs and it all came tumbling down, I fell apart and it the experience has left my T worse.

6 months ago I went to an ENT at on my own (as my GP has basically given up) and he was very good (I also have non allergic chronic rhynitus, causing bad headaches). In his report he suggested that I try Anti Depressants before anything else, he sent this to my GP and the specialist.

They have come back and said they won't try any other treatment until I have tried AD's.

After my experience with clonazapam and reading about AD's I am really anxious about AD's. I can't risk making my T any worse.

My life is already severely impacted as a car going past makes me anxious. I don't drink, smoke, eat suger, drink coffee, keep salt to minimum, only drink water, eat dairy free.

I am really missing doing normal things with my daughters (2 and 6) like going to fairs, movies, the beach, swimming pools, birthday party's, boating and a million other things I cannot currently do with them.

Any feedback appreciated.
Stay strong.

Nortryptaline or Amitriptyline or Mertazepin can help reduce tinnitus for some people.
Love glynis

3 months Clonazepam isn't really that long, unless the dose was huge. Do you know what these other treatments are that they say they won't try?
