Here is my theory about dopamine:

Sulpiride is an dopamine angonist. It lowers your level of dopamine.

Pramipexole is a dopamine agonist. It raises your dopamine level.

Aripiprazole is a dopamine agonist It lowers your level of dopamine.

Piribedil is a dopamine agonist. It raises your dopamine level.

So playing with your dopamine level could diminish your Tinnitus. It does not cure your tinnitus but it could help to lower the noise!

Dopamine serves several purposes, but increased dopamine can certainly make you "feel better", relaxed and connected to the reward centre of the brain; thus an antidepressant effect. I'm on Pramipexole, but see other thread for my thoughts on that medication.

It's worth noting, meds that lower dopamine (Dopamine antagonist) can cause tardive dyskinesias so be careful and talk with your doctor.

If you check over the Trobalt thread, I still think there is more promise in potassium channel openers. Many people experienced total silence on that drug.
