I have had tinnitus and hyperacusis since last June.

I was at work on Tuesday, working on a truck. I was wearing ear muffs the whole time in case I would drop a tool or a wrench would slip which can happen.

Anyway, I occasionally take the muffs on and off and take breaks from using them.

One time I was struggling with a bolt and sweating bad. I removed my earmuffs. After about 40 minutes. My tinnitus became louder, then it settled.

I had some pain in and around my right ear for a few minutes.

What are the chances the suction from pulling the ear muffs caused a problem?

I know they advise not to remove the protection too fast. I've always had pain come and go in my ear. I'm now just scared. It's been on my mind. I've been paying more attention to the pain.

If anybody has any information to share, that would be great. I'm an anxious wreck at the moment.
