Eardrum Moving When I Breathe

Hi All.

I was wondering if anyone can advise on this issue.

I can feel the eardrum in my right ear moving when I breathe, it is not tensor tympani syndrome as it does not do it in reaction to sounds, I can literally feel the eardrum or middle ear retracting when I breathe in, and extending when I breathe out.

I suppose I should go to the ENT about this, but just want your input about this.

What you're describing sounds like a patulous Eustachian tube. When your Eustachian tube/s stays open, air can flow in and out of it, creating a flexing sensation on your eardrum.

I can do this voluntarily myself as I can hold my Eustachian tubes open at will. If I breath in and out whilst doing this I get what you're describing in your post. Obviously, this should be checked by a dr to be sure.
