hi Doctor Nagler.. can you tell me if a hemangioma in the c5 neck area could cause tinnitus, I also have ddd and bulging disc in c5 area but no nerve impingment? also I read in a fibromyalgia book that one of its symptoms could be ringing in the ears, is this true? thank you very much for helping us and answering our questions for us!

      It cannot.

No, not without nerve impingement. And highly unlikely even with nerve impingement.

20% of the general population has tinnitus. I suspect that when somebody who has fibromyalgia has tinnitus, he or she might tend to look at it as a possible symptom of fibromyalgia. I just don't see it that way.

Jeannie, you've had tinnitus for almost two years now. It might go away, sure, but more likely than not it won't. So maybe you might start looking at why your tinnitus bothers you so much ... and see if you can do something about that. Below I'm attaching a piece I wrote about that. Maybe it will help.

      You are welcome.
