Has anyone first developed tinnitus from a mild or moderate noise induced trauma and then developed hyperacusis?

      If so,
      1. What was your acoustical trauma?
      2. How long after tinnitus did hyperacusis appear?
      3. Where there symptoms hyperacusis was coming on?
      4. What other coexisting medical or mental health issues do you have?
      5. Did your tinnitus or hyperacusis get less or resolve and if so how long did that take?

      1) Initial was iPod/concert, only left ear though, audiologist said that's impossible and that tinnitus is on both ears, and that tinnitus happens asap. My tinnitus happened 1 week after concert.

Second trauma was from VEMP test which was loud af.

      2) Initially I had no hyperacusis, just tinnitus which lowered in 2 weeks
Second trauma no improvement in hyperacusis, or severe tinnitus since Jan 17

      3) Hyperacusis happened after tinnitus. Tinnitus increased to severe on Jan 17 and I got hyperacusis in both ears on January 29.

      4) NONE

      5) Initially (SEP 2017) my Tinnitus was loud about a 6 in volume, it lowered to 4 then a 2 in a month. I had hyperacusis but because of overprotecting. It went away in 2 weeks.

Second Acoustic Trauma from VEMP, there was no improvement and I lost 20-25 dB of my hearing.

Still dealing with both hyperacusis and tinnitus.

Thanks for the info. It sounds like your going through hell with this. To clarify, did the vemp test cause the h? And what is a vemp test and why do they do it?

Yes, I have discomfort when I talk in both ears. I cant speak without causing discomfort to my ear. They did it because they saw me as a cash cow and my ENT wanted to make it worse.

Last night I slept 1 hour how loud it was. I heard it over my voice. Now its more tolerable a 7 but it can go up to a 9.

      Noise Exposure (Headphones)
      First and Second Exposure

      1. Headphones
      2. Instant? Same day?
      3. Not really. Just suddenly that it was painful to use headphones/listen to music at the same volume
      4. Atypical Facial Pain, Sciatica, Hypothyroidism
      5. Yes, first exposure was in June 2017, second August 2017. I started seeing improvement in January 2018 after discontinuing bus rides. Temporary setback same month that resolved.

      Third Exposure 2 weeks ago

      1. A loud sound on my phone from a streaming video.
      2. About 5 days.
      3. Headaches from trying to mask. Everyday noise making symptoms worse.
      4. Atypical Facial Pain, Sciatica, Hypothyroidism
      5. Let you know...
