Since my hyperacusis went through the roof I haven't gotten a haircut in almost 3 months.

Funny, I would get them weekly, always has to be on point lol...

How do you guys manage to deal with them with the freaking noisy clippers?

You just go get your haircut. A lot of hyperacusis is fear and anxiety. Clipper noise for a few seconds will not damage your hearing at all. I have mild hyperacusis now and I get a haircut every 3 weeks. Been doing it the past few years with hyperacusis. I am fine. My hyperacusis has not gotten worse. In fact it has improved. One of the ways of dealing with hyperacusis is just not to fear sounds or fear it will get worse. Fearing sounds, avoiding them, wearing ear plugs too much will only make it worse.

I have cut my hair myself for more than 20 years.
Hair clipper on 5-6 mm. Ready in 5 mins - every 2-3 weeks.
Not so much hair anymore. When I started losing hair around age 25, I had my first smaller depression. But during this time, I met my wife and all was fine. So the depression was very short.
tinnitus brought the second depression. (n)
