I was thinking about getting some but didn't want to spend money on something if it wasn't going to work.

From what I understand, it helps to prevent GABA from turning into glutamate.

Since GABA can be calming I figured this might be nice to take off an on but unsure if this should be taken long term due it's interference of a natural process.

My wife made up a batch of lemon balm tea yesterday, and I'm currently sipping some as I write this. I'm currently noticing a calming effect, which is what I think most people with tinnitus strive for. I just ran across an article on lemon balm, and thought I'd share it here: -- Help Ease Anxiety With Lemon Balm Tea

@Lane - that's great advice. Hold some lemon balm tea in mouth for 10 seconds before swallowing. Do this with the entire cup of tea. Inflammation/infections properties often gather in the mouth.

Do you use the actual loose tea leaves or pre made tea bags? Is the taste ok? I've ordered the loose tea leaves, hoping it helps calm me some.

I use the loose tea leaves, and add about a half teaspoon of coconut oil and about 1/8 tsp of stevia. Actually tastes great--sweet lemony flavor.
