This morning I woke up to a spike. I didn't sleep well last night and this is a loud spike. I haven't had a spike in a long time. It's a tone that I had gotten in the very beginning of this. It's scaring me I've had low tinnitus for a few months now and wake up to this.

Please any positive responses for me, I'd really appreciate it

Hi Jen. Did anything happen recently that may have aggravated it? Noise, stress, anxiety, caffeine, drugs, illness? Poor sleep can definitely affect tinnitus. It happens to me all the time. A good night's sleep can help reset things.

Yes I didn't sleep well last night. I woke up a lot so I think you're right. I hope it goes down soon.

My T spikes often. Sometimes it spikes from being away from noise for too long of all things!! The good thing is, once you stop worrying about it, it should eventually drop back down. Both having anxiety and thinking about it will activate it. Wishing you the best!

      This.

Start masking it if you can and do some things to take your mind off it so your anexity can reduce.

Oh this is always an issue that resolves itself for me when I catch up on rest or sleep. The lack of good sleep is my number one cause for a louder tinnitus day.

      Are you doing better?

You should worry about a spike being permanent only after you've had it for over 2-3 months. Try to ignore all of the meaningless daily fluctuations. Focus on the monthly trend.
