Been taking Seroquel for sleep and when I have some bad days alprazolam for calmness.

Today a crown broke off and out of my mouth and I want to make sure that whatever a dentist will use next, will not be ototoxic.

Is seroquel or the use of benzo's proven to worsen tinnitus? Or found to be ototoxic...

I know everyone is different and I wish my coping skills were better, but it's what helps to sleep and tone down tinnitus when it is really unpleasant.

Has anyone found a happy median here.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

My understanding is that typically tinnitus is an issue when tapering / stopping benzos, along with a lot of other side effects.
While on them, a lot of people report a reduction in their tinnitus volume.
When using a benzo, you will slowly build up a tolerance to the drug and require more and more to achieve the same effect.
For this reason, they are only really recommended for short term use.
