High Blood Pressure Medication That Does Not Increase Tinnitus

I've tried Telmisartan, Losartan, and Enalapril. Each of them exacerbated the tinnitus by two to four times, even at low doses. Lisinopril did not affect the tinnitus, but it caused central nervous system side effects, so I had to stop that one as well.
Telmisartan is supposed to be one of the better blood pressure drugs for tinnitus. It has even been shown to be otoprotective. Are you sure that particular one made your tinnitus worse?

I tried it twice, with a break of a few days in between. My notes show that my tinnitus increased about four times in intensity after taking 20 mg of Telmisartan, and it took around two days to clear up. I then tried it a second time and experienced a similar fourfold increase, which again subsided after a couple of days.

My tinnitus resulted from acoustic trauma followed by Meniere's-like inflammation that lasted several more months. I am one of the rare people for whom NAC makes tinnitus worse, yet Lipoflavonoid actually makes it better. So it could very well be a case of your mileage may vary.
