Cause of Tinnitus
noise + 3 major increases via (shouting / MRI/ flu+Tylenol)
I had an unlucky incident 2 weeks ago when I was returning an appliance, the clerk dropped some metal parts on the floor while I had my earmuffs off and it made a loud sound like pans falling, 3 days later I started noticing a high pitch hissing sound that has started to go to my right ear as well.

Has anyone had similar incidents? Did anyone have pans falling hard next to them?

I don't think this is going to be temporary, I'm even getting more fleeting tinnitus in my right ear maybe it's a sign damage has been done. I'm shocked at my bad luck

you're still in the acute stage of your new damage. I'm no doctor but I suggest you seek out an ENT to give you intratympanic injections of dexamethasone RIGHT NOW. Like NOW.

Finding an ENT that will do this in Canada is almost impossible, I have some prednisone but I am not convinced.

Can dropping a metal object really cause permanent damage? this is very hard to believe :(

That all depends on how susceptible you were and how loud the noise was.

I may be falsely under the impression that this is a routine procedure in America and Canada. Is it not something ENTs do???

Maybe in America, I had a hard time getting prednisone from one of the many ENTs I have seen over the years.

Hmmmm. Sorry to hear that. Please take the steroids that your doctor did give you.

I had them for more than a year now and they are expired by a few months. Have you ever taken them?

I'm definitely worse high frequency now is in my right ear and it seems to have gotten worse after driving on the highway for 30 minutes even with ear muffs on, I don't know what to do.

I'm scared to take the prednisone I have left since I had a bad experience with only one pill of Tylenol.

At this I'm getting a new Spike almost every month for the last 4 months
