Hello! I've had tinnitus all my life, but until two years ago it was very quiet and low key. It sounded rather like a cricket chirping non stop. But when I began "change of life", my tinnitus escalated to a constant high pitched rushing sound. The volume has increased so that it interferes with my daily life. I found this forum while looking for an ipad app to mask tinnitus, and thought I would join and see if I could find any new ideas on the treatment of this disorder. I look forward to learning more about my tinnitus, and how to deal with it.

What do you mean with 'change of life'? Usually, there is some kind of trigger when someone's tinnitus gets worse, even though we do not always know.

      Not sure

I expect it's hormonal changes Spook. Perhaps if you had HRT or something similar that redressed the hormone imbalance that may help with the T? Maybe take a natural supplement like red clover or mung beans?

      Hope it gets better.

Change of life is just another term for menopause.
