Hello, I'm a secretary working in a stressful office. I developed ringing in my ears seven months ago, it comes and then it goes about every 3 to 4 days. I do thank God I get a break from it, but some days it can last about 3 days and a loud annoying high pitch sound. I don't know what its causing it whether its my medication for blood pressure (these I've taken for years) or that I was just recently type 2 diabetes which I started to take pills. I had gone to the ENT last month but after a full examination he told me my hearing was better than his I passed with flying colors. I also had a lot of dental work done, which unfortunately, I developed a clicking when I move my jaws which I told the ENT. He told me TMJ could be the culprit. It's horrible that there is no cure or any kind of medication. I do find other ways, like exercise, massaging my jaw area, and taking a long semi hot shower, it helps a great deal. I'm happy for this website availability for people like us who suffer with tinnitus.

If they think your T is caused by TMJ I would recommend seeing a tmj specialist and having a dental applicance made to realign your jaw. :) I have tmj also and love my specialist! I hope you get to feeling better.
