Does anyone know about ultra high frequency testing?

What does a normal hearing result look like? Is it still supposed to be within the normal range of less than 25 dB like a standard test? Or does it slope downward?

@StephanieLC

Response in the very high frequency decreases with age. I am attaching the link to my audiogram and you will see the average results for my range (early 50's) and the results for my left and right ear. From the audiogram, you will see that to 8KHz I am normal like many T sufferers claim, but my T left ear has a 20dB gap compared to the right good ear for very high frequencies. My T is very high frequency and is not tonal (broadband).

@InfiniteLoop

Thank you for sharing! That's exactly what I was wondering. You say the black line is the average for your age, and I see it has a downward slope. So if someone has that average it is then considered a normal result? Since it slopes, what is considered hearing loss in high frequencies? Sharp dips?

@StephanieLC

I do not follow your question very well. My left ear shows a good example of hearing loss in very high frequencies compared to my age average and to my right ear. The description of your T cause is a perforated eardrum that I guess it affects only one ear. You should get an audiometry to 16KHz and compare the results for both ears.

@PolishSoldier87

I noticed you had an ultra high frequency audiogram done.

Where did you get that? The hospital in Belgium and the audiologists and doctors I met all measure up to 8khz.

Was it expensive?

@Pero1234 I did it in World Hearing Center in Kajetany, it was free like other many tests that day but I waited almost a year but it's possible to do that kind of test in Poland in many "usual" private clinics like this
https://www.damian.pl/en/

It includes audiologist consultation and it costs about $45USD.

Right now I'm looking for place where i will be able to do high frequency DPOAE because i know that there are devices able to do it, http://www.ronest.pl/oferta/audiologia/otoemisja/21-smartdpoae#kat

(SmartOAE 16 kHz for pople and 32 kHz for animals)
