Is Promethazine (Cough Syrup with Codeine) Safe for Tinnitus?

I have a cold and I already took Promethazine 3 times (1 tablespoon for 3 days.) Could this possibly increase tinnitus? I read Codeine could lead to hearing loss, but only after long-term use of several years. I want to make sure it's safe to use for about a week. Is the Promethazine safe?

I've taken both in combination for varying amounts of time and didn't experience any problems. You should be all good!
