I have been living with the shrill loud monotone noise since 1995. It only bothers me when I think about it . I am quite hard of hearing due to it and go hearing aids, but since then it has gotten worse. Has this happened to anyone else?

It has gotten worst since you got hearing aids? you have had tinnitus for a long time, what has changed that your volume/intensity has increased? Tinnitus by itself will not just change intensity unless something had changed or there is an underlying reason.
