Hello,

So it seems like my ability to deal with stress in general is nonexistent. I am facing multiple stressful changes in life at once and I feel like I'm falling apart.

I rely on my partner a lot to calm me down when I'm feeling anxious. Now we are going to be in a long distance relationship for at least a year if not two. After having spent every day together for 3 months I am moving to Finland and he will stay in the UK. I keep crying over this on a daily basis already.

On top of that, this will be my first time living alone and it terrifies me. I don't know how to do it. I don't have any stuff with me so I'm starting from the scratch. I will be living with a friend for the first two weeks and then moving to my own place.

I'm taking my final exams in September, on 5 separate days. Prepping for the exams has been stressful too. I am also starting in a new vocational course as soon as I arrive.

So many things are happening and I am beyond stressed to the point I can't even tell which things stress me out more. Any tips on how to deal with stress? Also, have others experienced worse tinnitus when stressed?

Thank you

Worst tinnitus/spikes with stress is a common thing. I have been in your shoes before many times. DO not think of everything all at once. Just make a list and do one thing at a time and try not obsess over it...

It's tough, but you can handle it and will accomplish your goals...

Hi @Frenger.

So it seems like my ability to deal with stress in general is nonexistent. I am facing multiple stressful changes in life at once and I feel like I'm falling apart.

I am so very sorry to hear that. Hang in there. I understand being separated from someone with whom you are come to rely on for support (mine left yesterday). Like you, my tears have been a daily occurrence from the day I learned she would have to leave. But, you will get through this. You will still be able to communicate, and he will still be able to provide you with the support you need.

And, for what it is worth, you have us as well. You have been a member for a while now so you know that we are always here to support each other. Feel free to lean on us when you need help. We will be here.

On top of that, this will be my first time living alone and it terrifies me. I don't know how to do it. I don't have any stuff with me so I'm starting from the scratch. I will be living with a friend for the first two weeks and then moving to my own place.

I can see how that could be frightening. But, if you are staying with a friend for the first two weeks I have to assume that when you move to your own place that it will not be too far from that friend. So, while you may not have someone else in your place after those initial two weeks, your friend will still be relatively close, so you will not really be "alone". It may take a few minutes for that friend to come to you (or you to go to that friend), but you will have someone there when you need them.

So many things are happening and I am beyond stressed to the point I can't even tell which things stress me out more. Any tips on how to deal with stress? Also, have others experienced worse tinnitus when stressed?

@fishbone is correct, his advice is excellent and should be followed. Staying focused on your goals will help.

Hang in there. Continue to reach out when you need support, we will be here. Good luck with your exams and please keep us updated.
