When I first noticed the ringing I was sitting in complete silence reading for the first time in years. I have a 7 year old and 3 year old I don't often just sit in silence.

Anyway as I was reading my ears both started to twitch kind of but on the inside which brought my attention to them then I noticed the ringing. I really feel like I may have had it before and just never noticed it. Thoughts?

They say 10% of the population will experience tinnitus.
The best you can do isnt so easy but it is to manage your stress level because its correlate a lot with the volume of T
Other than that try to avoid really loud noise like clubing or big show

And it is likely to go away try to think a little bit about you and take care of yourself try not to obsess about it
You can also look for prednisone if it just started (you need to see a GP)
You can also play a little background noise (gentle) to ignore the T

@Oli I was actually able to see an ent already, my right ear was impacted he cleared it made no difference. He basically just said ok go get a hearing test done nothing else. What's the prednisone? It started 2 weeks ago.

@Oli I feel like I'm hearing every noise in the world right now. Is that normal? If cells like my ears and brain are on over drive everything is lounder and annoying to me right now.

Before I got real T, if I was in complete silence I could hear a loud DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.... it was always there, since I was a kid, I always said silence was so loud. Aparently that is normal though, the T I have now is different, it's not a single tone, I can hear the damage, it's like a smashed up battery, hissing ringing unnatural noises.
I played an 8k tone on my speakers at low volume and asked my 7yo daughter could she hear it. Yes daddy, it sounds like the noise I hear when I am in my room with no other sound.
She can also hear up too 22k on my speakers. I hear nothing after 14k (apart from tinnitus)

Seems she has my ears, well the hearing I had before the alarm destroyed it.

Holy cow, I'm surprised whatever speakers you're using even output frequencies as high as 22k.
